What is Depression?

The feeling of despair, guilt, dissatisfaction from the action done, irritation, lack of attention or stress of daily actions are some of the negative emotions that everybody goes through in their life. Once in a blue moon, if you will experience these sorts of signs and symptoms, it doesn't mean that you suffer from depression or anxiety. However, if these signs persist and affect your life span, its depression.

The environmental and psychological factors are the reason behind your depression causing your emotional imbalance that is to say more expectations and unmanaged thoughts, unhealthy lifestyle and practice, busy and polluted city, etc. There are also Genetic and biological factors that cause depression.

These techniques are for raising the oxygen level in your brain and body, Activating Happy hormone, receiving negative ion, balancing living style and thoughts, sleeping enough and embracing nature. 

1. Yoga and Meditation for Depression

Fill your brain and body with oxygen

Warm-up Body (Exercises and Jugging): Your main goal should be to gain a lot of oxygen. Every cell of your body should be filled with oxygen. You need to do 20 to 30 minutes of physical exercise. You can do jogging or any other kinds of exercise until sweat does not come completely and totally.


Pranayama: After physical exercises, you need to practice Pranayama  5 to 10 minutes. You can increase it's up to 20 minutes day by day gradually. The main reason to do Pranayama is to fill your brain with oxygen. There are different types of Pranayama like Namaskar Pranayama, Kapalabhati Pranayama,  Bhastrika Pranayama,  Anuloma Viloma Pranayama, Bhamari Pranayama, etc. Last 5 minutes of practice beech Pranayama(breath watching). Take a long and deep breath full of awareness and focus.

Meditation (Activate pineal gland)

In deep meditation, your hormone-like Serotonin, Oxytocin, and Dopamine get activated. If you want to learn meditation then the best idea is to take a guide from an expert. Practicing meditation under their control and instruction will lead you on the right track. You can also practice at home for 15 to 20 minutes every day. 

2. Ecotherapy for depression

Naturally, the beautiful area contains a high level of negative ion. Trekking in nature, you will get the opportunity to connect with nature and get enormous benefits. Negative Ions will boost your serotonin levels; improve mood, alertness, anxiety and even depression.


River and waterfall sides also contain a high level of negative ion. Even sitting and just walking around in these places, you can feel your core and your being.  Meditating by listening to their sound also be a way to ground with them.  If you are feeling stressed, you can plan an adventurous trek where you need to face a lot of challenges. 

3. Sleeps for depression

You know how important sleep is. Sleep is one of the important parts of your life. A normal person sleeps 1/3 of his/her life. How many hours do you sleep? On average, normal people should sleep 8 hours but as all people are unique, their sleeping hours are also differing. How many hours you sleep does not matter but the how better and well you sleep is matter. 

You need to feel fresh and newness after you wake up. In deep sleep, your whole body and mind are cleaned up that’s why your focus should be making your sleep more qualitative than quantitative for that you can practice meditation for sleep. The more you are in deep sleep, the more you receive life force energy and get healed. Cosmic energy is the most important food you need in your life.  

4. Healthy food and drinks for depression


What you will eat, you will be that. The concern here, your food and drinks will decide how your life and thoughts will be.  Try to eat more natural things. Drink more water, eat raw fruits, and green leaf.  Earth is symbolizing how much water you need to have in your body. 70 % water and 30 % of the food you need for a healthy life.

5. Five Elements to cure depression (Water, earth, space, air, and fire)

Our body is made of five-element water, earth, space, air, and fire. A little imbalance with these elements causes psychological and physical disorders.

Water Element: Water level in your body should be 70%.







Earth Element: There are many cases in your life you were not feeling safe that is a deep fear of insecurity. It is because of the imbalance of this Element. You need to be grounded with mother earth. There is some natural therapy like walking barefoot on meadow, mud, land or grass.

Never interference with those things which are not in your hand, just accept it. There are so many external factors that disappoint you and maybe lead you to stress, anxiety or even depression. You need not to concern about those matters. Instead, you can add new things to your life and forget about them.  Even your internal thoughts, bother you. At that time, you should accept your thought whatever positive or negative. Acceptance is the best and everlasting technique to win any kind of stress, anxiety or depression. Always welcome and say yes to life how it comes.

Your life is so busy and competitive. Your life pattern has become like going in the office, spending time on social media or gaming, going out to eat, sleeping late at night, wake up late in the morning and repeating the same schedule. You don’t have a single minute to think out of it. 

Slowly, your life goes out of nature and gradually, your life becomes imbalanced. Now the problem starts in your life. The center of your problem is you not the world.
