The internal conflict within yourself is rare to be visible with the outer environment. The things are causal and normal to the outside world. But, within you exists n number of terrors, anxiety, fear of judgment, and much more haunting you. It is leading you to mental and physical problems like insomnia, cancer, high blood pressure, diabetes and even leading a person to commit suicide. Research says mental illness is the reason for conflict between a person or even between countries.

Guided Meditation for Sleep 

There are many meditation techniques for sleep. You need to select the best meditation technique which works for you. First and foremost, you need to create a meditating environment.

If sleeping is hard and your biggest problem, then these tips and techniques of meditation for sleep can be an effective way to improve your sleep quality. How many hours you sleep doesn’t matter, how well and better you sleep is matter.


Take meal 2-3 hours before you sleep.




Before sleep, take a shower (lukewarm water if it is cold).



Drink a glass of warm water ( 20-30minutes before sleep).



Light a lamp (Use organic oil and cotton).



Go to your bed. Take an ease posture (asana) and hand mudra. You can take savasana if you are going to practice by sleeping. Take a long and deep breath for 3-9 times. Chant OM for 3 times (deep and long). Do commitment to yourself (I will not shake or move any part of my body at any cost for 15-20 minutes).

Note:- Never try hard to sleep. If you don’t feel sleepy, just wake up. Be comfortable. Sit in a comfortable posture. Take long and deep breath 3-5 times.  Don’t try to get rid of your thought whether it might be positive or negative, just accept it. You can select the meditation technique that best fits for you. Practicing meditation every morning is quite hard for the ones who don't practice daily. But, you can try 10 minutes at least. Then slowly, increase your mediation for 20-30 minutes.

Breathing technique 

In this meditation for sleep method, be aware of your breathing. Look just as a witness. Watch incoming breath and outgoing breath. In the beginning inhale slowly and deeply, exhale slowly and deeply. Just focus on your breathing, watch it and be aware,  don’t cling in your breath. Gradually, you will feel asleep. Lay down on the bed. Let the breath become shorter and shorter and see the moment. Neither focus on inhaling nor focus on exhaling, just be a moment that has been created inside you.

[Note:- If you feel changing the position distracts your sleep, you can  practice on Savasana]

Counting technique

The counting technique is another technique of meditation for sleep. Do the same as breathing technique, something here you need to add is counting number when you inhale and exhale. You can choose any inhale counting or exhale counting.
Inhale counting /exhale counting 
First, you inhale count 1, second, you inhale count 2, …, fifty, you inhale count 50. After 5o come back to 1 again. If you did a mistake at starting, or in the middle or at the end, you need to start from the beginning.  
Another counting method is counting from 500 to 1 backward eg:- 500, 499, 498, 497, …, 1. If you did a mistake, start again from 500. In this method. You will mistake many times. You will have no idea when and how you fall asleep, repeating this process.
